Umina Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) is a well respected and socially conscious organisation. Established in 1959, it has been providing voluntary surf life saving services to the community for more than 58 years.
During this time, the population of the Central Coast has grown significantly, as has the popularity of Umina as a tourist destination with an estimated 150,000 visits to the beach during the 2016/2017 patrol season.
The Umina SLSC as it operates today is a very diverse organisation with a diverse membership carrying out a variety of functions on a volunteer basis for the local cimmunity. This is a quick snapshot of some of the key duties carried out by the volunteer life savers throughout the 2016/17 season.
