The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service provides our community with a 24 hour, seven day a week service that is free of charge to all those that need it. You may also know that to provide this free service, the Rescue Helicopters rely heavily upon the support of the community.
As part of fundraising efforts, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service will host its first Rescue Helicopter Beach Run on 6th September 2015 from Terrigal SLSC to Wamberal SLSC and return. There is expected to be approx. 500 participants and guests to kick off this inaugural event.
Below is a basic rundown:
Sunday 6 September
Run time 9:30am
Terrigal SLSC to Wamberal SLSC return (exact course to be confirmed)
Family Activities (10am – 2pm)
There will be entertainment for the whole family at the finish line with live music, food and drink vendors, jumping castle, face painting and Star 104.5 will be joing us with the Road stars.
Each year the role performed by the helicopters is becoming greater, so much so that over 1200 missions are completed each year, this is an average of 3 a day!
