David Benson took out the Bronze in Short Board event and narrowly missed out on the podium with a fourth place finish in long board.

Kieran Braddish brought home a bronze in the short board for his age category.

David & Kieran were the only two Umina representatives to take part in the championships.

Umina Nippers at NSW Surf Titles – Swansea

Our Umina Nippers embraced the Envirobank Challenge to be the club to collect the most plastic bottles and aluminium cans for a $500.00 donation to the winning Club.

Our Nippers took this on and collected a total of 65 bags with the closest club being 18 bags.  A total of 2500 containers.

So where to from here: – Umina Surf Club is registered with Envirobank and we have the ORANGE bags at our club if you are interested in recycling and a healthier environment please come on board.  The Club will receive 8c for every plastic container or aluminium can with the 2c going to NSW Surf Life Saving.

Envirobank will be coming to the Surf Club fortnightly starting on Thursday 12th April 2018 (to be confirmed) between 8am and 12 noon.

This is early planning stages and I am sure there will be some teething issues but lets give it a go and get involved.

Your Nippers have got the ball rolling lets continue.
