Umina Nippers Handbook

The Season ahead…

Welcome to our new families joining Umina SLSC this season and welcome back to our families returning from last season.

We are excited to get the season underway and want to make sure you are prepared with information.

Our official start of the season date is Sunday 8th October 2023

Nippers runs Sunday mornings – meeting in front of the clubhouse on the grass at 8:45am. Find the flag for your age group and get your name marked off by one of the age managers.

What to bring on Sunday:

  • Swimmers
  • Rashie
  • Skull Cap
  • Goggles
  • Towel
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Water bottle

It is also handy to bring a spare change of clothes so you can get changed at the end of nippers

Nippers is about having fun!

Our main focus is for PARTICIPATION & FUN!!

It is okay if your children do not want to get involved straight away, your age managers & helpers are there to assist and ease your children into this new activity at their own pace.

We have also found that our nippers LOVE when they can share their morning with you – they love when their families get involved.

There is a lot you can do to support them on the beach, such as assisting with counting placings and helping with beach activity set-up.

If you wish to be involved with the water activities, we require you to hold your bronze medallion – you can find more information about this on our website.

Either way, it is a great idea to wear your swimmer/rash vest or clothes that can get wet/splashed…

We promise it’s lots of fun!!

Our Uniforms

The below uniforms for nippers are compulsory – If you have not picked up your uniform yet, don’t worry the uniform shop will be open from 8 am on Sunday Morning. We also have a large range of Club gear available to purchase.

What Happens When Mother Nature Hits

Unfortunately, it happens and Mother Nature sometimes has other plans for Sunday mornings.

Nippers is on in all weather conditions – we simply tailor it to the day.

Updates will be sent via Facebook Groups, SMS and on the whiteboard under the clubhouse
