BLACKROLL ACTIVATION & RECOVERY SERIES

The BLACKROLL and Surf Life Saving NSW Activation and Recovery Series is here to teach surf lifesavers the benefits of rolling and trigger work using rollers, balls and bands. This seven-part series will provide exercises for each of our Surf Life Saving areas including; IRBs, Surf Boats, Pool Rescue, Beachies, Rescue Ready Lifesavers, Nippers and Water Athletes.

Fascia training tools allow you to perform a large variety of mobilisation, recovery, activation, strength, stability and even cardio exercises. All for the good of your immune system.

The exercises covered in our Activation & Recovery series will help you with recovery and regeneration through self-massage, trigger point therapy, and Self Myofascial Treatment or to workout with functional training, movement, and core strength exercises.

Fascial training incorporates what is known as Self-myofascial treatment (SMT), a technique that uses fascial training tools such as rollers to “roll” the connective tissue or fascia of the body. Myofascial treatment is a soft tissue therapy to treat dysfunction and pain stemming from the body’s fascia and connective tissue. Myofascial techniques use a variety of tools such as rollers, therapy balls, bands, and blocks in exercises that massage and stimulate the soft tissue. Rolling isn’t just for top athletes; anyone can benefit from foam rolling. Fascial training boosts the performance of exercise and training for all sports, as well as yoga and pilates. Functional Myofascial Training aims to train the body’s entire myofascial network to improve overall circulation and mobility, relieve pain, and enhance your performance.

Whether you’re the average person or an Olympic athlete, fascial training and rolling treatment enhances the health of your fascia to strengthen and balance your muscles and joints. SMT also encourages a healthier, smoother, more flexible, stronger, bouncier fascia that is hydrated and well supplied with essential nutrients.
